Dr Daniel J. Tower is a writer, engineer, and researcher, whose work focuses on the intersection between the cultural geography, visual anthropology, and the built environment. Daniel completed his PhD at the University of Sydney in 2020. His doctoral thesis investigated religious homelands in northern Iraq, through which he created a novel spatial methodology to assess ethnic and religious identity using ArcGIS mapping technologies. Alongside his academic research, Daniel works as an engineering consultant specialising in bridge design and construction. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute (FRAI) and volunteers for the non-profit organisations Iraq Body Count (IBC) and the Etuti Organisation. He publishes non-academic works with Swill Magazine, drinks far too much batch brewed coffee, and is an avid collector of blues and rock vinyl records.
